27th Toronto International Film Festival Coverage: Day Four
It’s supposed to be September but Toronto’s weather has been hot and humid today.
We started the day off at the press conference for Auto Focus, Paul Schrader’s look at the dark side of Hogan’s Heroes star Bob Crane’s life. Greg Kinnear stars as Bob Crane. Kinnear is an actor who seems to grow with each role. His co-star, Willem Dafoe, is always interesting to watch.
We followed that up with the press conference for Shekhar Kapur’s remake of The Four Feathers, which could be subtitled Young Hollywood in the Desert given its cast of Wes Bentley, Djimon Hounsou, Kate Hudson and Heath Ledger.
We then trekked off to the red carpets to cover the premieres of Tuck Everlasting, The Four Feathers, Love Liz, 8 Mile (a work-in-progress screening), Auto Focus and Far From Heaven.
Once again, Dustin Hoffman and Sharon Stone dropped by a film that wasn’t theirs, this time dropping in on Curtis Hanson’s work-in-progress screening of 8 Mile.
