TCM kills Bill

A couple of gorefests slugged it out for top spot this weekend and it was the remake that won. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre scared up $28.1 million dollars, while last week’s #1, Kill Bill: Vol. 1, sliced its way to second with $12.4 million.
The new John Cusack/[textileRef:237950170676eebe6aee5a:linkStartMarker:“Gene Hackman”:/cr/genehackman]/Dustin Hoffman courtroom drama, Runaway Jury debuted with a third place showing and $11.8 million, while the School of Rock’s weekend classes took in another $11 million. Clint Eastwood’s Mystic River expanded to 1467 screens this weekend and added another $10.4 million to round out the top five.
