Kimberly Alexis Bledel was born September 16, 1981 in Houston, Texas. Her first introduction to acting came very young when her parents urged her to participate in community theatre to overcome her shyness. Bledel stared modeling in high school and had traveled overseas to places like Milan and Tokyo. After graduating high school, she enrolled in the film department at New York University in 1999.
In 2000, she acquired a manager and headed to LA for pilot season. There she landed the role of Rory in the WB hit Gilmore Girls starring opposite Lauren Graham as her mother. The show would last 7 seasons, but Bledel would keep busy with other projects in that time. She was seen in 2002’s Tuck Everlasting with Jonathan Jackson, William Hurt and Sissy Spacek. A couple of years later, she was seen in Bride and Prejudice which starred Aishwarya Rai.
A busier year followed in 2005 with the releases of The Orphan King with Chris Evans and Bill Pullman, Sin City with Jessica Alba, Clive Owen and Benicio Del Toro and The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants with America Ferrera, Amber Tamblyn and Blake Lively.
In 2006, she starred in I’m Reed Fish with Jay Baruchel and the short film Life is Short with Seth MacFarlane. She reteamed with her jean-wearing gal pals for 2008’s The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2.
