Tribeca Film Festival: Day 6
The 2nd Annual Tribeca Film Festival concluded today with an award ceremony for the films in competition.
Martin Scorsese, Whoopi Goldberg, Kevin Spacey, Nora Ephron, Sheila Nevins, Parker Posey, Sandra Bernhard, Fisher Stevens, Youssra, Jay Roach and Jamie-Lynn Sigler presented awards to the winners at the ceremony held at the Stuyvesant High School Auditorium in Tribeca.
"We are delighted with the response to the Festival," said festival co-counder Robert De Niro. "It has not only become an opportunity to celebrate the world of film and the strength and vitality of lower Manhattan, but also to acknowledge the tremendous talent working around the world to create the best in new film. Our congratulations to this year's award winners."

"The creativity, heart, and determination of these individuals shows us that there are thousands more stories just waiting to be told. We are thrilled that the 2nd annual Tribeca Film Festival has helped to bring these voices to light, and we look forward to doing so in years to come."
Following are the various Awards, and their winners:
- Best Narrative Feature, presented by Nora Ephron to Li Yang for Blind Shaft (presented by Kodak); Winner receives $10,000 in film stock, plus $15,000 in-kind services donated by Cineric, Inc.;
- Best Documentary Feature, presented by Parker Posey to Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi and Hugo Berkeley for a normal life (presented by Apple). Honorable Mentions to Laura Gabbert for Sunset Story and Francesca Comencino for Carlo Giuliani, a Boy (Carlo Giuliani, Ragazzo). Winner receives G4 computer with Final Cut Pro software, plus $10,000 in-kind services donated by Alpha Cine Labs;
- Best Documentary > 2 Feature Film, presented by Sheila Nevins to Moslem Mansouri for Trial (Mohakeme) (presented by HBO). Honorable Mention to Nick Broomfield and Joan Churchill for Aileen: Life and Death of a Serial Killer. Winner receives $25,000 in-kind services from donating sponsor, Technicolor Creative Services-NY;
- Emerging Narrative Feature Filmmaker, presented by Martin Scorsese to Valeria Bruni Tedeschi for It is easier for a camel... (Il est plus facile pour un chameau) (presented by American Express); Winner receives $25,000 and 6 months in-kind services from PMK/HBH Public Relations;
- Emerging Documentary Feature Filmmaker, presented by Jay Roach to Mohamed Zran for Song of the Millennium (Le chant du millenaire) (presented by American Express); Winner receives $25,000 and 6 months in-kind services from PMK/HBH Public Relations;
- Best Narrative Short Film, presented by Sandra Bernhard to Lars Daniel Krutzkoff Jacobsen for Precious Moments (presented by Panasonic); Winner receives DV Cinema Package valued at $9,700, plus $5,000 in-kind services from DuArt Film & Video;
- Best Documentary Short Film, presented by Fisher Stevens to Harvey Wang for Milton Rogovin: The Forgotten Ones (presented by Prada). Special Citation to Richard Linklater for Live From Shiva's Dance Floor; Winner receives $25,000 and $5,000 in-kind services from DuArt Film & Video;
- MTV Films Award for Student Visionary Film, presented by Jamie-Lynn Sigler to Enrico Kahn for Make Up (Maquillaje); Winner receives G4 computer with Final Cut Pro software, donated by Apple;
- Best Actress in a Feature Film, presented by Whoopi Goldberg to Valeria Bruni Tedeschi for It is easier for a camel... (Il est plus facile pour un chameau) (presented by Delta Airlines); Winner receives two first-class round trip tickets anywhere Delta flies;
- Best Actor in a Feature Film, presented by Youssra to Ohad Knoller in Yossi & Jagger and Igor Bares in Some Secrets (Vylet) (presented by Cinemax); Winners receive $5,000;
- The Budweiser/TriggerStreet.com Audience Award for Best Feature Film, presented by Kevin Spacey to two winning films: David G. Berger, Holly Maxson, and Kate Hirson of Keeping Time: The Life, Music & Photographs of Milt Hinton and Chen Kaige of Together. The films will share the prize of $25,000.
We had a blast getting our feet wet at our first Tribeca Film Festival. The organizers have done a great job setting this festival up over two years and it can only get better. Thanks Tribeca!
