Dinosaurs are America’s sweethearts

While the dangerous dinos of Jurassic Park III took a big bite out of the weekend box office, romantic comedy America’s Sweethearts also took a healthy portion.
The eight year old dino franchise walked away with roughly $50.3 million from Friday to Sunday. Added that to its take since its Wednesday opening and the total take is now over $80.9 million.
Julia Roberts, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Billy Crystal managed a good second place showing with a weekend take of $31 million despite the fact that most critics shrugged it off.
Last week’s #1, Legally Blonde took in $11.1 million for a third place showing.
