Apes swing into lead

Planet of the Apes, starring Mark Wahlberg and Tim Roth, took in an estimated $69.6 million this weekend giving it the biggest non-holiday weekend gross ever. It also broke the previous Friday record with $25.1 million.
Last week’s number one, Jurassic Park III, was second with $22.5 million while Julia Roberts and Catherine Zeta-Jones’ America’s Sweethearts tumbled to $15.7 million.
