Golden Globe Awards to honor Hackman

Gene Hackman will be the recipient of the 2003 Cecil B. DeMille Award from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for his “outstanding contribution to the entertainment field.”
The honor, voted by the board of directors of the HFPA, will be presented to Hackman at the 60th Annual Golden Globe Awards, to be held Sunday, January 19, 2003.
Gene Hackman has received three Golden Globes in the past; one as Best Actor (Drama) for The French Connection, one as Best Actor (Comedy or Musical) for The Royal Tenenbaums, and one for Best Supporting Actor for Unforgiven. He has also received five additional Golden Globe nominations; four as Best Actor (Drama) for The Conversation, French Connection II, Twice In a Lifetime and Mississippi Burning, and one as Best Supporting Actor for Under Fire.
In other Golden Globe news today, Dominik Garcia-Lorido and A.J. Lamas have been selected as Miss and Mr. Golden Globe. Dominik is the daughter of actor Andy Garcia and his wife Marivi Lorido Garcia while A.J. is the son of Lorenzo Lamas and ex-publicist Michele Cathy Smith.
