Sid Ganis to chair his sixth Governors Ball
Dec 19, 2000 by Ian Evans
Academy Vice President Sid Ganis will chair the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ post-awards dinner-dance, the Governors Ball, for the sixth straight year.
The dinner for winners, nominees, presenters and participants will be held following the telecast of the 73rd Annual Academy Awards® on Sunday, March 25, 2001.
Ganis will be joined by vice-chair Alan Bergman. The two will work to create the look and mood of the Governors Ball.
“As usual we will try to present the most elegant, the most relaxed and the most fun party of the evening – a fitting companion piece to Hollywood’s big night,” said Ganis.
When not helping to create the best party of the year, Ganis is also a producer, working on films like Adam Sandler’s 1999 box office hit Big Daddy.
