Splitsville for romantic comedy queen

A publicist for Meg Ryan and Dennis Quaid announced the couple have separated after nine years of marriage.

The 38-year-old Ryan and 46-year-old Quaid split six weeks ago. It was described as “mutual and amicable.” The couple, who have an 8-year-old son did not yet say if they had plans to divorce.

Ryan, romantic comedy star of hits like You’ve Got Mail and Sleepless in Seattle, married Quaid on Valentine’s Day in 1991.

The pair met in 1987 while making the comedy-adventure Innerspace and later filmed D.O.A. together.

Some tabloids are already trying to link Meg and her current co-star Russell Crowe.
