X-Men surprises analysts with big box office

Perhaps Patrick Stewart’s Professor X used his telekinetic powers to steer people to the movies.

X-Men, which analysts thought would take the #1 spot with perhaps $35 million, instead took home an estimated $57.5 million. That box office take put it second only to MI:2’s opening this summer and makes it the 4th biggest 3-day opening of all time.
