Gayheart to face charges

According to the Los Angeles City Attorney’s office, actress Rebecca Gayheart will be facing a misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter charge following the June 13 traffic accident that killed 9-year-old Jorge Cruz Jr.

The actress could have faced a felony charge but the D.A.‘s office felt that the police were unable to provide evidence of gross negligence.

Besides the criminal charge, the boy’s parents also filed a wrongful-death lawsuit August 6 against Gayheart.
