Monsters, Inc., the latest computer animated comedy from Disney and Pixar, had a huge opening this weekend, drawing in over $63.5 million according to box office estimates.
The John Goodman/Billy Crystal comedy’s opening made it the best ever bow for an animated film and easily let it beat the number two film, Jet Li’s martial arts flick, The One, which took in about $20 million.
The latest John Travolta vehicle, Domestic Disturbance, pulled in roughly $14.5 million. While Kevin Spacey’s K-Pax, last week’s number one, was fourth with $10.7 million.
