Meet Sir Ben

Britain’s New Year’s Honours List was announced today and Ben Kingsley was given a knighthood, so we can all go around calling the Oscar®-winning actor “Sir Ben” from now on.

The Honour’s List also included nods for actress Lynn Redgrave and singer Sade who were given OBE’s (Officer of the Order of the British Empire), while the Gibb brothers (Barry, Maurice and Robin) received CBE’s (Commander of the Order of the British Empire), despite their confessed involvement in the disco era. Boxer Lennox Lewis also received a CBE.

The majority of those on the list this year were selected from the schools, hospitals and police forces.
