Harmon to leave Law & Order

Lovers of the NBC crime drama Law & Order (ourselves included) are used to entrances and exits from the long-running show. We briefly mourn the loss of an old friend and then greet the new kid with a “show us what ya got” attitude.

After three years of playing assistant district attorney Abbie Carmichael, Angie Harmon has decided to leave the show to pursue a feature career. She will appear at least until the end of the season and may show up in a few of next season’s episodes, as Studios USA prepares to shoot a few extra episodes for next season in case of a strike by the Screen Actors Guild.
