Aliens head home

May 22nd will be the departure date for the aliens on NBC’s 3rd Rock from the Sun. The final episode will be a one-hour long special featuring John Cleese and Elvis Costello. Elvis will sing “Fly Me to the Moon” as the alien family headed by John Lithgow take off in the red convertible that brought them to our planet.

Running for six seasons, 3rd Rock has earned 29 Emmy nominations, winning eight and also winning a Golden Globe for best comedy series.

The show also has the dubious distinction of having appeared in 18 different time slots, more than any other TV show.
