James Coburn dead at 74

Oscar®-winning actor James Coburn, whose career spanned more than 40 years, has died of a heart attack at the age of 74. The actor suffered a massive coronary while listening to music with his wife.

Coburn won an Oscar® in 1999 for his supporting role in Affliction, where he played Nick Nolte’s alcoholic father.
