Well, we’ve been away from the web for a few days as our train made its merry way down to LA. Oscar® preparations are in full swing as the big statues and red carpet start to line Hollywood Blvd.

Here’s the latest Academy Awards news:

  • Paul McCartney will be making his first performance on an Oscar® telecast.
  • Oscar®-nominee Maggie Smith will be a presenter this Sunday.
  • John Travolta will be making his eigth Oscar® show appearance.
  • Oscar®-nominee Ian McKellen will be making his first appearance on the Oscar® stage.
  • Nathan Lane will make his second appearance on the telecast, while Hugh Jackman will be making his first.
