Attack of the Clones took in $110.2 million over its first four days, which is about $6 million less than the previously announced studio estimates.
Its Friday to Sunday take was $80 million, which makes it the third best weekend ever, after Spider-Man and Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.
Spider-Man dropped to number two, with a $45 million haul that most films would love to have as an opening. Richard Gere and Diane Lane’s Unfaithful was third with $10 million.
The Hugh Grant flick About a Boy took in $8.6 million, while The New Guy rounded out the top five with $6.5 million.
