Oscars® changing month?

It’s not official, but we might see a February Oscar® show starting in 2004.

The Academy’s board held a June 25th vote to move the ceremony up a month. With more and more awards shows filling the space between January 1st and the end of March, the move could be seen as a way to stem the dilution of the ceremony’s importance. It could also be a way to curtail the increasingly expensive vote campaigns run by the studios.
