Academy’s Diamond Anniversary Screening Series to Feature The English Patient

The English Patient, the sweeping epic that won the Oscar® for Best Picture of 1996, will screen on Monday, October 27, at 7:30 p.m. in the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ Samuel Goldwyn Theater as the 75th anniversary series, “Facets of the Diamond: 75 Years of Best Picture Winners,” continues.
Footage from the 69th Academy Awards® telecast will be featured during the program, as will the Oscar-winning Animated Short Subject of 1996, Quest. The original trailer for Titanic, the next film in the screening series, also will be shown. The Best Song of 1996, “You Must Love Me” from the film Evita, will provide the evening’s curtain music.
Tickets may be purchased, pending availability, at a cost of $5 each for the general public and $3 for Academy members and students with a valid I.D.
