Burton Morris to unveil Oscar® poster

The Academy Awards® are being presented a month earlier than usual, so we’re expecting a flurry of announcements over the next few weeks. On Thursday, November 13th, the 76th Academy Awards® commemorative poster, designed by pop artist Buron Morris, will be unveiled at a special event at Hollywood & Highland’s Babylon Court.

Morris’ work, which is known for its simplified lines and rich acrylic colors, gained attention across the U.S. in the mid-90s, when one of his pieces was chosen to hang on the set of the sitcom Friends.

“Oscar is a uniquely recognizable symbol, not only in American culture but throughout the world, and I’m both honored and excited to create a design around such an icon,” said Morris.
