Matrix Revolutions opens worldwide

The Matrix Revolutions opened simultaneously in 107 countries on Wednesday, taking in over $43.1 million U.S. in the process.

The third film in the series has been panned by critics as much as the first was praised, but the hype machine has been in full gear. The $43.1 million was made up of $24.3 million from Canada and the U.S. while the rest of the big blue marble accounted for the other $18.8 million.
