Sigourney Weaver to help announce Oscar nods

Nominations for the 76th Academy Awards® will be announced Tuesday, January 27, by Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences President Frank Pierson and three-time Oscar-nominated actress and Academy member Sigourney Weaver.
Pierson and Weaver will unveil the nominations in ten of the 24 categories at a 5:30 a.m. Pacific news conference, which will be attended by media outlets from around the world.
Weaver received Oscar nominations for her leading role in 1986’s Aliens and received both Actress and Supporting Actress nominations in 1988 for Gorillas in the Mist and Working Girl, respectively. Her many other film credits include Holes, The Guys, Galaxy Quest, Map of the World, The Ice Storm, Death and the Maiden, Dave, Ghostbusters, The Year of Living Dangerously and the Aliens franchise. She will be seen next in M. Night Shyamalan’s The Woods.
