John D. Barrymore dies

John D. Barrymore, the actor father of Drew Barrymore, has died at the age of 72. No details have yet been released about his death. Barrymore was the son of John Barrymore and Dolores Costello and the nephew of the other acting Barrymores, Lionel and Ethel.

In a statement released by her publicist, Drew Barrymore said, “He was a cool cat. Please smile when you think of him.”
