Audiences still feel the passion

Mel Gibson’s controversial The Passion of the Christ took the top spot again for a second weekend, crossing the $200 million mark with a box office collection basket of $53.2 million.
The Ben Stiller Wilson spoof Starsky & Hutch opened in second spot with $28.1 million while LOTR star Viggo Mortensen rode his horse across the desert in Hidalgo with an $18.8 million third place.
Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler continued to amuse audiences with a fourth place showing for their comedy, 50 First Dates, which added $7.6 million to its haul. Ashley Judd’s Twisted rounded out the top five with a $5.1 million weekend.
