Spidey holds on

For a second week, Peter Parker and his web-slinging alter-ego stayed on top of the weekened box office. Final figures showed that that Spider-Man 2 had the top spot with $45.1 million. It’s now the first film to reach the $250 million mark in 12 days.
Will Ferrel’s latest comedy, Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy took the second spot with $28.4 million, while a scantily-clad arrow-shooting Keira Knightley didn’t help King Arthur’s disappointing $15 million weekend. The expensive “true story” of the Arthur legend has only taken in $23 million since its Wednesday opening.
Michael Moore’s searing Fahrenheit 9/11 continued burning Bush with an additional $11 million, while fellow Canucks Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling rounded out the top five with The Notebook’s $6.5 million weekend.
