Bourne’s supreme

Final weekend tallies have The Bourne Supremacy, which features Matt Damon, Julia Stiles and Joan Allen, firmly in the top spot with a $52.5 million opening. That figure is about twice what the first installment opened with in ’02.
The Will Smith vehicle I, Robot moved to second with $21.7 million, while the critically-savaged Catwoman (see our review) opened with $16.7 million. Halle Berry’s opening compares to Spider-Man 2’s fourth weekend take of $15 million. The web-slinger has now taken in over $328 million at the box office.
Hilary Duff’s A Cinderella Story rounded out the top five with $7.8 million in its second week. Meanwhile, Fahrenheit 9/11, which took the seventh spot with $4.7 million, became the first non-fiction flick to cross the $100 million mark.
