West Wing to end after seven years

NBC’s Emmy-winning political drama The West Wing will end its run on May 14th. The show has been a victim of falling ratings, despite an election storyline that has a Democrat played by Jimmy Smits running against a Republican portrayed by Alan Alda.

The show has also recently had to deal with the death of cast member John Spencer, who died of a heart attack on December 16th.
