Sydney Pollack dies

Sydney Pollack, who won Academy Awards for producing and directing Out of Africa, had died of cancer at the age of 73. Pollack, who passed away Monday afternoon, was surrounded by family.

Pollack also worked as an actor. One of his best loved roles was that of Dustin Hoffman’s agent in Tootsie, a film he also directed.
