Ed McMahon dies

Ed McMahon, who shot to fame as Johnny Carson’s announcer and sidekick on The Tonight Show, has died at the age of 86.
McMahon worked with Carson from 1962 to 1992 and also hosted the talent contest Star Search from 1983 to 1995. He also worked as a co-host on the Jerry Lewis Labor Day Telethon.
McMahon was also a decorated U.S. Marine fighter pilot, serving during World War Two and the Korean War.
