Walter Cronkite, the newscaster once called “the most trusted man in America” has died at the age of 92. He died today with his family at his side in New York.
Hosting the CBS Evening News from 1962 to 1981, Cronkite was the trusted voice Americans turned to during the country’s historical moments like the assassinations of President John F. Kennedy and the Reverend Martin Luther King Jr. and the landing of Apollo 11 on the moon.
