Oscar night music available on iTunes

If you’ve ever thought to yourself, “Self, if only the music from the Oscar® ceremony was available on iTunes” then the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences just read your mind.

Titled “The 84th Academy Awards — Celebrate the Music,” the collection includes the show’s musical theme by Hans Zimmer plus six interpretations of the theme by other artists, and the “In Memoriam” choral rendition of “What a Wonderful World.”

The collection features the work of the shows co-musical directors Hans Zimmer and Pharrell Williams alongside Sheila E., Esperanza Spalding, Stephane Wrembel, three-time Oscar-winning composer Giorgio Moroder, two-time Oscar winning composer/musician A.R. Rahman, Ann Marie Calhoun and Martin Tillman, Junkie XL and Peter Asher.

The compilation of these unique interpretations of the theme is available for download now at iTunes.com/oscars.
