Debbie Reynolds dies one day after daughter Carrie Fisher

One day after her daughter, actress-writer and Star Wars icon Carrie Fisher, died from a heart attack at the age of 60, actress Debbie Reynolds, the beloved star of films like Singin’ in the Rain and The Unsinkable Molly Browm, died of a stroke at the age of 84.
Yesterday Reynolds posted this statement on her Facebook page: “Thank you to everyone who has embraced the gifts and talents of my beloved and amazing daughter. I am grateful for your thoughts and prayers that are now guiding her to her next stop.”
Today, her son Todd Fisher said of Reynolds, who had a very strong relationship with her daughter after years of estrangement, “She wanted to be with Carrie.”
