Singer and composer Chris Cornell is seen here at the Machine Gun Preacher premiere with then-girlfriend Vicky Karayiannis. The pair married in 2014.
Singer Chris Cornell, best known for his work with Soundgarden and Audioslave, was found dead of an apparent suicide Wednesday night. He was found hanging in his hotel room in Detroit, shortly after Soundgarden performed there.
Soundgarden emerged as one of the icons of the 90’s grunge movement. When the band split in 1997, Cornell pursued a solo career before joining Audioslave in 2001.
Besides music, Cornell was also involved in philanthropy, starting the Chris and Vicky Cornell Foundation to help children facing challenges in their lives.
