Three new sexual assault charges for Harvey Weinstein

Movie producer Harvey Weinstein faced three more sexual assault charges today. Th charges were announced by Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus R. Vance Jr. Weinstein is already facing two previous indictments.
Weinstein was charged with one count of commiting a criminal sexual act in the first degree as well as two counts of felony predatory sexual assault stemming from a 2006 incident. The felony predatory sexual assault charges carry a minimum sentence of 10 years in prison.
Weinstein’s attorney, Benjamin Brafman, indicated that his client will enter a plea of not guilt and said in a statement that, “Mr. Weinstein maintains that all of these allegations are false and he expects to be fully vindicated. Furthermore, to charge Mr. Weinstein as a predator when the interactions were each consensual is simply not justified.”
