Academy Award winner Taika Waititi attached to new Star Wars flick

Disney announced today that Taika Waititi, who won Best Adapted Screenplay for Jojo Rabbit at this year’s Oscars, will direct and co-write a new Star Wars feature.

Waititi, who also directed the season ender of the Disney+ Star Wars series The Mandalorian, will share writing chores with Academy Award nominee Krysty Wilson-Cairns (1917, Last Night in Soho), who received a BAFTA Award for Outstanding British Film of the Year for 1917.

No release date has been announced for the new feature.
