The Movie Man doc explores a man’s passion for cinema

The Movie Man, a documentary by director Matt Finlin, gives us a look at entrepreneur Keith Stata, who runs a multiplex deep in the forest of small-town Ontario, Canada. He’s run the well-loved cinema for 40 years but now confronts his dwindling health and a global pandemic that threatens the business. Will the little cinema that could finally meet it’s match?

The Highlands Cinemas is part of the allure of the town of Kinmount and acts as a microcosm of what people and places faced during Covid-19.
