A double dose of Banderas at the Toronto fest

With 23 days to go, the 27th Toronto International Film Festival has announced more of the films that will be a part of its lineup.
Brian De Palma’s Femme Fatale will make its North American Premiere as the Closing Night Gala. The film, which stars Antonio Banderas and Rebecca Romijn-Stamos, is a contemporary film noir about an alluring seductress suddenly exposed to the world – and her enemies – by a voyeuristic photographer who becomes ensnared in her surreal quest for revenge.
If you can’t get enough of Antonio Banderas, he’ll also been seen in Frida, another gala presentation starring Salma Hayek in the true story of painter Frida Kahlo and her husband Diego Rivera, Mexico’s most acclaimed artists. The film, directed by Julie Taymor, also features Alfred Molina, Ashley Judd, Geoffrey Rush and Edward Norton.
Hollywood hotties Kate Hudson and Heath Ledger will star in the gala presentation of The Four Feathers, directed by Elizabeth’s Shekhar Kapur. Based on A.E.W. Mason’s novel, the period drama also features American Beauty’s Wes Bentley.
The Special Presentation section of the festival will include a work-in-progress screening of Curtis Hanson’s 8 Mile. Marking the motion picture debut of rapper Eminem, the film stars Kim Basinger, Mekhi Phifer, and Brittany Murphy.
