Welcome to DigitalHit's coverage of the 32nd People's Choice Awards hosted by Craig Ferguson. If you really don't have time to watch the ceremony, remember this simple rule: if they show up, they've won, since the winners are notified weeks in advance. So we're not really going out on a limb when we predict that Jessica Simpson will win tonight since she's performing on the telecast.

9:01 PM ET

The show begins with newly-single Jessica Simpson displaying her assets but not her talent. Without the Newlyweds hype, will the 15 minute clock start on her career?

9:04 PM ET

Host Craig Ferguson takes to the stage.

"Can you believe they cut that number from Brokeback Mountain?" "I'm not from around here. I'm just another immigrant doing a job Americans don't want."

"I've never seen so many famous people in one room. It's like an AA meeting."

9:10 PM ET

Craig's also tonight's first presenter, presenting Favorite Leading Lady. And the People's Choice Award goes to Reese Witherspoon. Reese, of course, thanks "the people".

Jenna Elfman's the night's second presenter, handling the chore for Favorite Male TV Star. Ray Romano will take to the stage shortly. Oh, wait, let's let them open the envelope first. And the People's Choice Award goes to Ray Romano. Ray tries to drag his sons up, as they've always joined him onstage before. "Now they're thirteen and they're too cool." He pulls Angus T. Jones from Two and a Half Men up from his seat. "It's been eight months, but I miss the people."

Jason Lee and Ethan Suplee are up next to present the Favorite Daytime Talk Show Host to Ellen...as soon as they open the envelope. And the People's Choice Award goes to Ellen DeGeneres. (Hey no kiss for partner Portia de Rossi.) Is it just me, or has the last bit of fake surprise in this shindig been lost to the crowd yelling out the winner's name before they're announced? Is there anyone left in the home audience who thinks the winners are actually surprised?

"There's not one obstructed seat in the house...except the one behinf Brad Garrett."

Nicolette Sheridan and David Krumholtz are presenting the award for Favorite Reality Competion. And the People's Choice Award goes to American Idol. Gee, good thing AI judge Randy Jackson's in the house.

Cole Hauser strolls out to present Favorite Male Action Star to Matthew McConaughey, who's sitting in the audience. And the People's Choice Award goes to...Matthew McConaughey, of course. Matthew tells the audience to "just keep living", which is also the name of his production company.

The voiceover lady ponders who'll win Favorite Movie. Hmm...considering George Lucas is sitting in the seats, where do you want to place your bets?

Eva Mendes struts out to present Favorite Male Movie Star. And the People's Choice Award goes to Johnny Depp. Depp's not there, but luckily they just happened to prearrange a satellite feed for him. What a surprise...

Josh Lucas gushes about Johnny Depp and then prepares to present Favorite Female Performer. I hope Kelly Clarkson wins; she's in the audience. And the People's Choice Award goes to Kelly Clarkson. She gets a mini-standing ovation from about five people. She gushes that Josh Lucas is cute. "Peace out, y'all!"

9:51 PM ET

The next presenter is Harrison Ford, so you just know George Lucas is taking home some mantle filler.

Ford talks about the "three exceptional films" nominated for Favorite Movie. And the People's Choice Award goes to Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith. George Lucas takes to the stage as the voiceover lady announces the film also won Favorite Movie Drama. Lucas says the award is important to him since he's not a critics or studio fave and he makes the films for the people. "The audience rules."

Jennifer Landon and Jesse Soffer remind the viewers they can still for the new TV shows on the web.

Craig introduces the next presenter: Doris Roberts. She's tasked with presenting Favorite Group. And the People's Choice Award goes to Green Day. Billie Joe Armstrong and Mike Dirnt accept it. Billie Joe says "Damn, this friggin' thing is heavy!"

Dominic Monaghan, who says Harrison Ford is the reason he became an actor, presents Favorite Female TV star. And the People's Choice Award goes to Jennifer Garner. The new mom accepts by satellite. Without opening another envelope, Dominic somehow knows she also won Female Action Star. What a psychic!

10:11 PM ET

Craig's onstage with Ray Ramano's twins. He introduces Jessica Simpson. As Jessica saunters out, audience member Mark-Paul Gosselaar gives a "what the hell is that outfit?" face. Funny.

Jessica's presenting Favorite Movie Comedy. And the People's Choice Award goes to Wedding Crashers. The award is accepted by Owen Wilson, who voiceover lady tells us has also won Favorite On-Screen Match-Up with Vince Vaughan.

Marg Helgenberger and Gary Dourdan are sharing the presenting duties for Favorite New TV Drama. And the People's Choice Award goes to Prison Break. The cast and production team take to the stage to make their thanks.

Craig announces he'd like to give an award for Best Dressed Mosh Pit to the audience members standing around him.

Craig introduces the next presenter, the cast of How I Met Your Mother, Josh Radnor, Jason Segel, Cobie Smulders, Neil Patrick Harris and Alyson Hannigan. They're presenting Favorite TV Comedy. And the People's Choice Award goes to Everybody Loves Raymond. As Ray starts to talk, Brad Garrett berates him. "Don't you feel bad that you beat Kiefer Sutherland? Kiefer Sutherland! Charlie [Sheen] maybe, but Kiefer Sutherland? That's acting!"

About half an hour to go.

George Lopez has the enviable task of presenting Favorite Female Movie Star. "We apologize that Nick Lachey is not here, but we didn't need any more seat fillers." Jessica Simpson doesn't look pleased. "Is she laughing? No? Well that makes up for Dukes of Hazzard." The Simpson clan tries to laugh, but they don't look pleased.

Well, the winner has to be Sandra Bullock, since she's Lopez' executive producer and she's in the audience. And the People's Choice Award goes to Sandra Bullock.

"I'd like to apologize for George Lopez. We're still trying to balance his kidney medicine."

Kelsey Grammer's out next. The star of sitcom classic Frasier is here to present Favorite New TV Comedy. And the People's Choice Award goes to My Name is Earl.

Jason Lee and his fellow castmates and producers take to the stage. "Greg Garcia, who wrote this bad boy...I love you Greg!"

Jenna Elfman announces some of the awards that were not handed out during the telecast. Tyra Banks then sashays out to present Favorite Song from a Movie. And the People's Choice Award goes to "These Boots Are Made For Walkin'" by Jessica Simpson from The Dukes of Hazzard. "Oh gosh! I never win anything!" She thanks the public, her family and Willie Nelson.

10:56 PM ET

Donald Sutherland is up next to present Favorite TV Drama. And the People's Choice Award goes to CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. William Petersen thanks the public on behalf of the cast and crew and gets cut-off by the end of the show.
