26th Toronto International Film Festival Coverage: Day Seven
Sept 12, 2001 – In light of the terrorist attacks in the US, changes were made at the Toronto International Film Festival today.
We attended a noon press conference where Piers Handling, the Festival’s Director, announced that while most public and press screenings would resume today, the more frivolous, celebratory aspects of the Festival would cease. That means there would be no red carpet arrivals for the press to cover, no parties, and most likely a large change in the press conference schedules.
If you’re reading this, please don’t forget to give blood if you can.
Two press conferences did continue today: Mike Figgis’ Hotel and My Kingdom with Richard Harris.
