27th Toronto International Film Festival Coverage: Day Two
Our busy second day started off with a press conference for White Oleander. Three of the films stars — Alison Lohman, Robin Wright Penn and Michelle Pfeiffer — were in attendance. Pfieffer is as charming and intelligent as she is beautiful.
Our next press conference of the day, The Good Thief, reintroduced us to Nick Nolte, who we’ve seen before at the Festival. Nolte’s an interesting character and at least we got to see him before his DUI arrest a few days later.
Our first premiere of the day, White Oleander, had a couple of spousal surprises as both Pfieffer’s hubby, David E. Kelley, and the elusive Sean Penn joined their wives for the red carpet walk.
We then had a slew of premieres to attend, including The Heart of Me, Respiro, Secretary, Gerry and Personal Velocity.
Finally, we closed off the night with Spun, which teamed a bevy of young Hollywood stars — Selma Blair, Mena Suvari, Patrick Fugit, Jason Schwartzman — with the volatile Mickey Rourke.
A busy, late day for our team.
