28th Toronto International Film Festival Coverage: Day Six

Lots of laughs at Jack Black’s The School of Rock press conference and lots of screaming fans looking to see Meg Ryan at the In the Cut world premiere.

As we said, the press conference for The School of Rock was a laugh riot including an imitation of singer Seal by Jack Black. Black said the humor of the film comes from the fact that a goofy guy like him is given the task of taking these children to a higher level. Asked if he learned anything from his young co-stars, Black said that you’re never too young to rock, never too young to be awesome and never too old to be young. He was also happy to be making a really funny movie for kids as he feels too many of the films aimed at younger audiences tiptoe around censorship too much.
